Scribing or Visual Note Taking by The Woodbine Workshop

Hi! I'm Anna, a Designer, Illustrator and Scriber.

Scribing (or Visual Note Taking, Graphic Recording, Graphic Facilitation, Sketch Noting etc etc) is taking written or spoken information and turning it into a useful, visually digestible resource.

Why?

Because 65% of the population are visual learners, and the other 35% benefit too!  â€‹If you've ever looked at a worksheet or info pack and thought "there has to be a better way to present this"... you're not wrong. That’s where scribing comes in — it takes complex or wordy content and turns it into engaging, illustrated documents that are clear, memorable, and made for visual learners .

Visual resources increase engagement in your content (whatever it is, and whatever your age) and reduce the cognitive load for our already overloaded brains. Basically, visual learning improves our understanding and recall of the subject, so it's a more effective and efficient way to learn! Win/win!

How?

Scribed resources can be made from any kind of content - written, spoken, audio, live events or existing documents.

With my background in book cover design, I’ve spent years distilling big stories into single, striking visuals — those same skills are ideal for bringing information to life in a way that’s actually fun to digest.

Check out these scribing examples - taking (lets face it, rather boring) resources and turning them into something visually exciting and engaging. Great for educators, teams, workshops, and anyone tired of dull PDFs.

Get in touch if you have something you need some scribing magic sprinkled on!
